Beautiful lines by Andy Rooney

These are written by Andy Rooney,

The man who had the gift of saying so much in so few words.
Enjoy.......

I've learned....
That the best classroom in the world is at the feet of an elderly person.
I've learned....
That when you're in love, it shows.
I've learned....
That just one person saying to me,
'You've made my day!' makes my day.
I've learned....
That having a child fall asleep in your arms is
One of the most peaceful feelings in the world.
I've learned....
That being Kind is more important than being Right.
I've learned....
That you should never say NO to a gift from a child.
I've learned....
That I can always pray for someone,
When I don't have the strength to help him in some other way.
I've learned....
That sometimes all a person needs
Is a Hand to hold and a Heart to understand.
I've learned....
That we should be glad God doesn't give us everything we ask for.
I've learned....
That money doesn't buy class.
I've learned....
That it's those small daily happenings that make life so spectacular.
I've learned...
That under everyone's hard shell is someone
who wants to be appreciated and loved.
I've learned....
That to ignore the facts does not change the facts.
I've learned....
That when you plan to get even with someone,
you are only letting that person continue to hurt you.
I've learned....
That love, not time, heals all wounds.
I've learned....
That the easiest way for me to grow as a person is
to surround myself with people smarter than I am.
I've learned....
That everyone you meet deserves to be greeted with a smile.
I've learned....
That no one is perfect until you fall in love with them.
I've learned...
That life is tough,
to succeed you must become tougher.
I've learned....
That opportunities are never lost.
Someone will take the ones you miss.
I've learned....
That when you harbor bitterness,
Happiness will dock elsewhere.
I've learned....
That I wish I could have told my mom that
I loved her one more time before she passed away.
I've learned....
That one should keep his words both soft and tender,
Because tomorrow he may have to eat them.
I've learned....
That a smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.
I've learned....
That when your newly born grandchild holds your little finger in his little fist,
That you're hooked for life.
I've learned....
That everyone wants to live on top of the mountain,
But all the happiness and growth occurs while you're climbing it.
I've learned....
That the less time I have to work with,
The more things I get done.

Reservation vs India

If a small piece of society is asking for reservation on such petty grounds with a false, claim of helping their community, then Jews in Germany can ask for the entire nation considering the treatment that their ancestors have received in that country.

India the Super power

As a child, I always wondered how India can be a superpower but now it is all clear because Briton and America are having a competition on who can screw themselves up the most. Britain is in the lead, but America has a Trump card :-)

Friend

One day, when I was a freshman in high school,

I saw a kid from my class walking home from school.

His name was Kyle.

It looked like he was carrying all of his
books.

I thought to myself, 'Why would anyone bring home all his books on a
Friday?

He must really be a nerd.'

I had quite a weekend planned (parties and a football game with me
friend’s tomorrow afternoon), so I shrugged my shoulders and went on.

As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids running toward him.
They ran at him, knocking all his books out of his arms and tripping
him so he landed in the dirt.

His glasses went flying, and I saw them land in the grass about ten
feet from him.

He looked up and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyes

My heart went out to him. So, I jogged over to him and as he crawled
around looking for his glasses, and I saw a tear in his eye.

As I handed him his glasses, I said, 'Those guys are jerks.

They really should get lives.
' He looked at me and said, 'Hey thanks!'
There was a big smile on his face.

It was one of those smiles that showed real gratitude.

I helped him pick up his books and asked him where he lived.

As it turned out, he lived near me, so I asked him why I had never seen

him before.

He said he had gone to private school before now.

I would have never hung out with a private school kid before.

We talked all the way home, and I carried some of his books.

He turned out to be a pretty cool kid.

I asked him if he wanted to play a little football with my friends.

He said yes.

We hung out all weekend and the more I got to know Kyle, the more I
liked him, and my friends thought the same of him.

Monday morning came, and there was Kyle with the huge stack of books
again.

I stopped him and said, 'Boy, you are gonna really build some serious
muscles with this pile of books every day!

' He just laughed and handed me half the books.

Over the next four years, Kyle and I became best friends.

When we were seniors, we began to think
about college.

Kyle decided on Georgetown, and I
was going to Duke.

I knew that we would always be friends, that the miles would never be a
problem.

He was going to be a doctor, and I was going for business on a football
scholarship.

Kyle was the valedictorian of our class.

I teased him all the time about being a nerd.

He had to prepare a speech for graduation.

I was so glad it wasn't me having to get up there and speak
On graduation day, I saw Kyle.

He looked great.

He was one of those guys that really found himself during high school.

He filled out and actually looked good in glasses.

He had more dates than I had and all the girls loved him.

Boy, sometimes I was jealous.

Today was one of those days.

I could see that he was nervous about his speech.

So, I smacked him on the back and said, 'Hey, big guy, you'll be
great!'
He looked at me with one of those looks (the really grateful one) and
smiled.

'Thanks,' he said.

As he started his speech, he cleared his throat and began

'Graduation is a time to thank those who helped you make it through
those tough years.

Your parents, your teachers, your siblings, maybe a coach...but mostly
your friends...

I am here to tell all of you that being a
Friends to someone is the best gift you can give them.

I am going to tell you a story.'

I just looked at my friend with disbelief as he told the story of the
the first day we met.

He had planned to kill himself over the weekend.

He talked of how he had cleaned out his locker so his mom wouldn't have
to do it later and was carrying his stuff home.

He looked hard at me and gave me a little smile.

'Thankfully, I was saved.

My friend saved me from doing the unspeakable.'

I heard the gasp go through the crowd as this handsome, popular boy
told us all about his weakest moment.

I saw his mom and dad looking at me and smiling that same grateful
smile.

Not until that moment did, I realize its depth.

Never underestimate the power of your actions.

With one small gesture, you can change a person's life.

For better or for worse.

God puts us all in each other's lives to impact one another in some
way.

Look for God in others.

You now have two choices, you can:

1) Pass this on to your friends or

2) Delete it and act like it didn't touch your heart.

As you can see, I took choice number 1.
'Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble

remembering how to fly.'

There is no beginning or end. Yesterday is history.

Tomorrow is a mystery.

Today is a gift.

It's National Friendship Week. Show your friends how much you care.
Send this to everyone you consider a FRIEND.

If it comes back to you, then you'll know you have a circle of friends.

Diwali

Today's the `Festival of Lights' all o'er;
A joyful day for minds and hearts and souls;
And people throng the Temples to offer,
Prayers, resolving to take better roles.
And most of them are richly clad and clean,
and eat such dainty foods and sweets with mirth;
Whilst noisy crackers burst, their lights are seen,
it seems to be a happy day on Earth!
But are there not hearts woe-filled, very sad?
Denied of laughter, smiles for days;
Today's the triumph of Good over bad;
But what about the wastage in many ways?
True joy is when you see someone else smile!
True charity gives joy in Heavenly style.

The Empty Jar And 2 Cups of Coffee

When things in your life seem, almost too much to handle When 24 Hours in a day is not enough,
Remember the story of the empty jar and two cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him.
When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a large and empty jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.
He then asked the students If the jar was full.
They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar.

He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open Areas between the golf balls.
He then asked the students again If the jar was full.
They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar.  Of course, the sand filled up everything else.
He asked once more if the jar was full.
The students responded with a unanimous 'yes.'

The professor then produced Two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively
Filling the Empty space between the sand.
The students laughed.

'Now,' said the professor, As the laughter subsided,
'I want you to recognize that This jar represents your life.

The golf balls are the important things - God, family, children, health, friends, and favourite passions – things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.
The pebbles are the other things that matter Like your job, house, and car.

The sand is everything else -- The small stuff.

'If you put the sand into the jar first,' He continued, 'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls.
The same goes for life.

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you.

So...

Pay attention to the things That are critical to your happiness.
Play With your children.
Take time to get medical checkups.
Take your time out to dinner with loved ones.

There will always be time
To clean the house and fix the disposal.

'Take care of the golf balls first -- The things that really matter.
Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.'

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.

The professor smiled.
'I'm glad you asked'.

It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a cup of coffee with a friend.'

Smile

A smile cost nothing,
But it gives everything.
If on your face, you have a cheerful smile,
You can win every heart in a while.
Smile is something,
You don’t have to borrow.
With a smile,
You can even enjoy sorrow.
In centuries will the image of a smile extend?
And this wonderful trend will never meet its end.
Like an electromagnet, your smile works,
Removing from your path,
All troublesome jerks.
Always on your face,
Keep a cheerful smile,
And you will surely achieve,
Treasure of life.

Life

Life is a river
Happiness and sadness
Are two shores of it
When people are happy
They feel the whole
World is happy with them
All mankind participates
In their happiness
And when they become sad
They feel that whole nature is
Sorrowful with them
But not all the people
Share their sadness
It is the law of nature

Time Management

Time management is commonly defined as the management of time in order to make the most out of it.

You can't manage time, it just is. So "time management" is a mislabeled problem, which has little chance of being an effective approach. What you really manage is your activity during the time, and defining outcomes and physical actions required is the core process required to manage what you do.

Time management can refer to all of the practices that individuals follow to make better use of their time, but such a definition could range over such diverse areas as the selection and use of personal electronic devices, time and motion study, self-awareness, and indeed a great deal of self-help. As narrowly defined, it refers to principles and systems that individuals use to make conscious decisions about the activities that occupy their time.

Human behaviour

Human behaviour is the collection of behaviours exhibited by human beings and influenced by cultureattitudesemotionsvaluesethicsauthorityrapporthypnosispersuasioncoercion and/or genetics.

The behaviour of people (and other organisms or even mechanisms) falls within a range with some behaviour being common, some unusual, some acceptable, and some outside acceptable limits.

In sociology, behaviour is considered as having no meaning, being not directed at other people and thus is the most basic human action. Behaviour should not be mistaken for social behaviour, which is a more advanced action, as social behaviour is behaviour specifically directed at other people. The acceptability of behaviour is evaluated relative to social norms and regulated by various means of social control.

Diwali

Diwali or Deepavali, popularly known as the "festival of lights," is a festival celebrated between mid-October and mid-November for different reasons. For Hindus, Diwali is one of the most important festivals of the year and is celebrated in families by performing traditional activities together in their homes. For Jains, Diwali marks the attainment of moksha or nirvana by Mahavira in 527 BC.
Diwali is an official holiday in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Mauritius, Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, Suriname, Malaysia, Singapore, and Fiji.
The name "Diwali" is a contraction of "Dipawali" which translates into "row of lamps". Diwali involves the lighting of small clay lamps (diyas or dīpas) in Sanskrit: दीप) filled with oil to signify the triumph of good over evil. During Diwali, all the celebrants wear new clothes and share sweets and snacks with family members and friends.
The festival starts with Dhanteras on which most Indian business communities begin their financial year. The second day of the festival, Naraka Chaturdasi, marks the vanquishing of the demon Naraka by Lord Krishna and his wife Satyabhama. Amavasya, the third day of Diwali, marks the worship of Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth in her most benevolent mood, fulfilling the wishes of her devotees. Amavasya also tells the story of Lord Vishnu, who in his dwarf incarnation vanquished the Bali, and banished him to Patala. It is on the fourth day of Diwali, Kartika Shudda Padyami, that Bali went to patala and took the reins of his new kingdom there. The fifth day is referred to as Yama Dvitiya (also called Bhai Dooj), and on this day sisters invite their brothers to their homes.
While the story behind Diwali and the manner of celebration varies from region to region (festive fireworks, worship, lights, sharing of sweets), the essence is the same – to rejoice in the Inner Light (Atman) or the underlying Reality of all things (Brahman).
